About us Our Team Our operation is located in Nyeri in Central Kenya . A team of devoted experts takes care of your safari; Sales and ground staff, excellent guides, cooks. In the picture below our team preparing for a special adventure safari in northern Kenya Bongo Asili Travel was started in 2002 by current owners and directors Wambui Elizabeth Gicheru and Eugene Nijssen. Originally the company was located in the bustling capital of Kenya and in 2010 the head office was moved to the sleepy provincial town of Nyeri about 150 km's north of Nairobi. Wambui Gicheru started her career in the hotel business and worked for many years in hotels in Kenya, Germany and Switserland. In worldclass hotels like Radisson and Hilton in Duesseldorf Germany and The Intercontinental in frankfurt Germany before starting her own company in 2006.
